Very interesting article. Just describing the United States’ mishaps, that aren’t taught in school as far as I can recall, but should be. I don’t think most Americans are really concerned, believing rhetoric spewed. People should realize, as you mentioned, that, how countries adapt (sometimes badly) in time of confrontation/sanctions. Not that I personally approve of the specific sanctioned government’s political agenda.

It will be a shocking eyeopener when the US finally is subject itself to sanctions and that is closer than you might think. I'm referring to stategic minerals for instance. Forcing millions of people to suffer because their government opposes American illegal actions will be the undoing of the US. It is alreay a dysfuctional, unethical, immoral, and violent disaster with more to come, all well deserved by the way!

You said that Norman Stone wrote about how Germany's food shortages were the fault of her own incompetent leadership, where did he say this? In his book about the Eastern Front?

Sanctions are used to prevent a country from importing or exporting needed goods by blocking access to foreign financial systems, such as the US dollar. It is only the US that can effectively sanction since it "owns" the reserve currency and it has "invested" in IT systems that make it possible to track each individual bank account that uses dollars. What the US have not realized, in terms of Russia, is that Russia does not need to either import or export anything, at least not for its survival. So they can adapt without the dollar, especially if half the world refuses to go along with the "dreaded" sanctions. Nor does the US realize how vulnerable they themselves are to materials that Russia exports. At what point will the sanctions weapon be used against the west? Time will tell.
